COVID: What Is A Dental Emergency?

Due to current government mandates and recommendations by the Hawaii Dental Association (HDA) and American Dental Association (ADA), we have limited our care to emergency dental procedures only. Our reduced services and schedule will continue until April 20, 2020.

A dental emergency involves dental trauma, infection, or pain related to the teeth, gums, and jaw. Here is a link to a flyer from the ADA to help us understand what dental procedures should be rescheduled and which ones should be taken care of.

Your dentist at 'Aiea Pearl City Dental Care will also review any scheduled treatment to help you determine the urgency of care. For example, a large cavity might not be a dental emergency now, but it could be in a few days or weeks. In some cases, we may do interim care such as placing medicines and temporary fillings to help slow the progression of the cavity. In other cases, we may ask for a patient's help by emailing us photos or videos rather than coming in to the office. If your dentist feels your care is, or may become urgent soon, we will reach out to you.

Please contact us if you have any questions: 808-488-1988, [email protected]. Stay safe!
